Guthsville Practical Shooters runs USPSA matches the 1st Sunday of the month from January through November. Setup begins at 8 AM. Registration opens at 10AM and closes at 10:45. The match starts at 11 AM. Setup help is appreciated Those helping will recieve a $10 discount on the match fee.

The next match at Guthsville will be held on Sunday, September 7th, 2008. As always setup starts at 8AM. Registration opens by 10AM and the match starts at 11AM.

There will be no USPSA match for July at Guthsville Rod and Gun Club. It was necessary to switch weekends with the Cowboy Action club and I have decided not to run a match the same weekend as Summer Blast. We will shoot the 1st Sunday in August and September. There will be no match in October since the 1st weekend overlaps the IDPA Nationals which are being held at Guthsville.

I'd like to that Mike and Ted for their work designing and building stages for last months match. If you would like to join in on the fun and design/build a stage for next month's match just let me know. The more shooters involved in stage design the more diverse the stages will be.

I'd like to thank everyone that was able to come to the match on Sunday. I'd especially like to thank Mike Gottlieb for designing and building stage 6 'Mickey's Choice', Joesph Lui for doing stats, Isabel for running registration, everyone who came out early to help setup the match and everyone who stayed late to help put it away.

Our next match is scheduled for April 6th, 2008. The current plan is for three field stages, two speed shoots and a classifier/standards stage. Total round count is as yet to be determined but should be at least 100 rounds. A meeting will be held after the match is put away to discuss hosting a Mid-Atlantic Sectional Match at Guthsville this August. If you would to help with that match, you are welcome to stay for the meeting.

We just held our March match which consisted of 6 stages (100 rounds). Turnout was very disappointing and I have received negative feedback from the club about closing 5 bays for so few shooters. Unless turnout improves the number of bays available for our matches may be restricted. Turning club members away from a bay because it is 'in-use' for the match when no one is shooting on it creates issues.
